September 3, 2025

Arlington, VA

Shift5, the leading Operational Intelligence platform for America’s defense and transportation systems, today announced it has raised $75M in Series C funding, led by Hedosophia with participation from Insight Partners, Center 15 Capital, 645 Ventures, Moore Strategic Ventures, Booz Allen Ventures, Squadra Ventures, AE Industrial, Disruptive, CSP Equity Partners, and Savano Capital Partners. The investment will scale Shift5's operational technology (OT) monitoring capabilities across defense and commercial transportation sectors as organizations face increasing cybersecurity threats and aging infrastructure challenges that demand real-time visibility into critical systems.

Momentum

The Series C reflects the company's growing momentum in the aviation, rail, maritime, and ground vehicle industries. Since the last raise, Shift5 has:

Lospinoso

"When we started this company, we set out to solve some of the toughest challenges in operational technology for the nation’s critical systems, and this round marks a major milestone that validates our team's work," said Josh Lospinoso, Shift5 CEO and co-founder. "More importantly, it provides rocket fuel to accelerate our mission of equipping the teams that operate and secure these systems with the infrastructure and analytics to detect threats, anticipate failures, and respond with confidence. This funding positions us to scale our impact as we build a generational company - one that can do well and do good.”

Wells

"Shift5 represents the kind of innovation we look for - a deeply mission-oriented team that's built a uniquely capable platform," said Richard Wells, Insight Partners managing director. "From our Series A investment through leading their Series B and now participating in Series C, we've seen them execute on transforming data into actionable insights. We're excited to continue our partnership as they scale this technology across the critical systems that the defense and commercial communities rely on."

Clark

The Series C brings a new member to Shift5's board: Shannon Clark, Palantir's head of defense growth. She brings extensive experience in the defense industry and growth-stage technology companies and will join existing board members Ret. Gen. Rich Clarke (former SOCOM commander and Shift5 chairman), Nick Sinai (Insight Partners managing director), and Josh Lospinoso (Shift5 CEO and co-founder).

"Shift5 has built a powerful solution that translates seamlessly from high-stakes defense environments to essential commercial infrastructure," said Shannon Clark, Palantir head of defense growth and Shift5 board member. "Having worked at the intersection of technology and national security for years, I'm excited to help guide a company that's solving real problems for both warfighters and the transportation systems that keep our economy moving. This team has both the vision and the execution to build something transformational.”

Clarke

The company's approach of using venture capital to fund advanced technology development reduces taxpayer risk while delivering proven solutions to government customers.

"Private sector innovation applied to national security challenges creates a win-win-win scenario," added Ret. Gen. Rich Clarke, former SOCOM commander and Shift5 chairman of the board. "The warfighter gets advanced capabilities faster, taxpayers benefit from private R&D investment, and together we bolster the security of our assets, our servicemembers, and ultimately our national defense."

The resources from the Series C will drive aggressive growth across multiple fronts, including accelerating R&D for next-generation capabilities, scaling go-to-market operations, and expanding market opportunities.

Booz Allen

"Our strategic partnership has demonstrated the powerful impact of combining Shift5’s operational technology insights with our AI-driven solutions for defense customers," said David Forbes, Booz Allen director of cyber physical defense. "This investment positions us to continue accelerating the innovations that keep our warfighters mission-ready, and we're excited about what we'll accomplish together next."
